NFL Championship Round Madden Notes – Pats Vs Giants Rematch!

The Patriots and Giants will once again be playing for the NFL Championship, it will be a rematch of Superbowl 42.
The Patriots were propelled into the game by a late miss by Ravens Kicker Billy Cundiff. While the Giants used a few 49ers special teams mishaps to win in overtime.
Madden NFL Notes on the games.
TE Vernon Davis is one of the fastest players at his position, he was able to outrun 2 safeties on his way to a big play.
QB Alex Smith ran the read option for a few positive plays, this should be added to Madden 13 with Newton and Tebow also using it.
Eli Manning unleased over 50 passes and completed over 30 of them, both franchise records.
WR Victor Cruz had a great day over the middle of the field and had crucial 3rd down conversions.
Alex Smith only hit 1 WR for a pass and was 1-11 on 3rd down conversions. The 1 conversion came on a hail mary type throw at the end of the game.
Eli Manning was sacked multiple times by a fierce 49ers rush. DE Justin Smith and LB Aldon Smith had great games!

Ravens Vs Patriots – Ravens don’t go for a 51 yard FG with 2:50 left in the game, this would be almost automatic in Madden.
Ravens got the ball back and with 28 Seconds left, Lee Evans dropped a TD Pass when Sterling Moore knocked it away.
Billy Cundiff missed a FG with 11 seconds left in the game that would have tied the game from only 31 yards away.
Tom Brady threw 2 INT’s in the game, but did an amazing job sneaking in a TD at the goal line.
TE Rob Gronkowski was injured at the end of the 3rd quarter, but did return and looks like he will play in the Super Bowl.
Baltimore had extremely poor clock management at the end of the game and didn’t even use all their T.O.’s
New England used WR Julian Edelman on Offense (28 Plays) and Defense (28 Plays) he was covering Boldin on the final drive down the field.
RB Danny Woodhead had a big fumbled on a kick return and his carry rating will likely take a hit.
Vince Wilfork had a tremendous game and will likely get a ratings boost. TE Aaron Hernandez was very elusive after the catch.
Brandon Spikes showed he can play in pass coverage too with a great Int.
