Madden NFL – Week 2 Recap

Week 2 Winners – Who impressed us the most? What Madden information can we get from watching all the action? Here it is…

Buffalo Bills – The Bills rallied late and won on a 4th down play from Fitzpatrick to David Nelson. Buffalo starts 2-0 and will travel to New England this weekend to play the Patriots who are also 2-0! The Buffalo offense has been very potent, but it will be great to see how their defense matches up against a juggernaut like the Patriots.

Madden Note: Buffalo used QB/WR Brad Smith (92 Speed) in the wildcat during the game to keep the defense honest

Falcons -

Atlanta avoided an 0-2 start after knocking out QB Mike Vick and rallying with 2 4th quarter scores. The Falcons Matt Ryan (Ryan) had 4 TD passes and was able to hit Tony Gonzalez for two scores. The Eagles brought in QB Mike Kafka who rallied his team until WR Jeremy Maclin dropped a huge pass on 4th down.

Madden Note: Vince Young is the backup for Philly and is a better option since you can utilize a similar gameplan due to a similar playstyle to Vick.

Jets – The Jets used smothering defense to take out the Jaguars 32-3. New York had a safety and 4 interceptions on the day. They ran a conservative offensive attack that grinded down the Jaguars and got them out to a 2-0 start.

Madden Note: Antonio Cromartie had a huge day and is still an elite cover corner in Madden NFL due to his size and speed combo

Lions – Detroit QB Matthew Stafford is healthy and was able to put on a clinic during the Lions 48-3 win over the Chiefs. Kansas City may have lost star Madden NFL back Jamal Charles for the season with an injury and will have to readjust their gameplan. Jahvid Best had a big game for the lions and is an elite WR weapon out of the backfield.

Madden Note : Detroit WR Calvin Johnson was able to exploit 1 on 1 matchups in the red zone due to his size, utilize this in Madden NFL 12.

New Englad was able to capitalize on too many mistakes from San Diego and get out to a 2-0 start. Tom Brady threw for over 400 yards and worked the ball to his TE’s over the middle of the field all day. Last week on the weekly sideline, we broke down the Pats no huddle offense and they were able to utilize this style attack again this week.

Madden Note: WR Vincent Jackson was able to use his size to have a huge day, make sure to work these types of throws into your gameplan

Redskins – Rex Grossman and the Washington Redskins are now 2-0 after defeating the Cardinals with a late FG. Star WR Larry Fitzgerald had a long TD catch but Washington was able to rebound and get a late win!

Madden Note: Rookie RB Roy Helu got into the action on Sunday and is a great sleeper for Washington
