Madden 11 Studs: Jason Williams LB, Cowboys
When you think of dominant linebackers in the NFL you don’t typically think Cowboys 2nd year line backer Jason Williams. However, if you’re thinking of dominate Madden linebackers then look no further. Jason didn’t register one single tackle during the 2009 season but looks to make a big impact during the 2010 season. Blame it on injury, blame on a deep Cowboys depth chart, blame it on whatever you like but this former 3rd round pick from Western Illinois University has a chip on his shoulder.
Williams is no slouch when it comes to the virtual gridiron. In terms of Madden ability he can do it all. His full ratings give you an idea of how explosive he really is. Jason rings in at a 56 overall but boasts one of the highest speed ratings in the game at 87. Not only can he keep up with the leagues fastest but he also soars through the roof with an impressive 89 jump rating. Madden is a funny game because in order see any type of field time you need to be fast enough to get involved in plays. Having the speed that Williams has allows him to make plays that other higher rated, but slower players can’t. This means that Jason Williams is an equal to a guy like DeMarcus Ware in Madden. He can get to the same amount of plays that Ware can and in Madden that can mean the difference between a win and a loss.
All around the country Williams will see the starting spot over more seasoned vets because he has what it takes to make plays in Madden. With these key stats in order you can expect Williams to wreak havoc throughout the Madden 11’ season. Let’s hope that he gets these same opportunities on Sundays.

I used to rock Victor Butler, but J-Will simply blows him away. Brooking wont see the field. Im Looking at Ware off the edge, then Williams, Lee and Spencer. When I drop into dime, I will set those guys to rush at DE and take advantage of Dallas’ tremendous speed in the secondary.
They have my two favorite random plays in Jay Ratliff at Nose and Big Bad Pat Watkins roaming in the secondary, Dallas is the team to beat again in Madden 11!

My Dallas Nickel Odd Split and 4-4 for Madden 11
4-4
LE~A.Spencer-He’s my best pass rusher other than Demarcus Ware so he can go on the strong side of Madden. The TE side, the #1 side and the qb hand side. Not to mention that 85 tackle rating is nice on the line and for run support
DT1~J.Ratliff- Top 5 DT, nothing to explain
DT2~Igor- Last year it was spears, this year it’s Igor. Now that accel matters(as they say), i can live with the 4 point speed drop off from Igor the Spears. The 88 tackle rating is good as well
RE-V.Butler- Butler is a hidden gem in the game trust me. He’s a great edge rusher and having two stout DT’s next to him help him on the game. He’s vulnerable against the run and doesnt’ shed blocks well, but if you put someoen next to him and above him, he makes plays. He goes on the weak side of madden for that sole purpose. The mid 80 finesse and power moves make him a must on the line if you go with a 4 man front and want Ware off the LOS
LOLB~ D.Ware- D.Ware,D.Ware,D.Ware,D.Ware. ok ok ok i’m done saying it.
MLB1~B.James- If they didn’t essentially crap on Keith Brooking, he’d go here. He’s our best inside rusher from the LB core and he always gets penetration and they jip him on speed and finnese moves. It’s cool though, James has great block shed, hit power and tackling, no brainer in the middle
MLB2-As much as a want to put Sean Lee here, Brooking is just better. The 9 speed points is huge dont’ get me wrong, but in my 4-4, my MLB 2, plays a lot of yellow zone and QB spy, so i don’t need to him rushing to the flats or chasing TE;s. He can sit his slow behind in a yellow zone or follow the QB every where. That PRC, tackling and Brookings rushing ability is too much to look past. Last year i sat him, this year, he’s playing.
ROLB- J.Williams- Probably the best madden player no one uses. He’s always around the ball so don’t let that AWR and PRC fool you. He’s a great user and even though his tackling rating isn’t the best, these other 3 LB with amazing tacklign ratings and that stout D-line get there for clean up if he misses some.
CB1- M.Jenkins He’s better than Newman aside from the 4 speed points (93 is still fast for a CB though) and the 73 catch that Newman has, while Jenkins has 61. Jenkins is better overall though
CB2- T.Newman- If i play Oakland or Philly Newman will be in no problem. But the likes of SD, or other Dallas pl;ayers, Watkins will def move to CB. Newman isn’t one of my favorite madden CB’s he so soft and gets beat more than he should.
FS-Experimenting at the end of 10, this will come to a surprise that my FS for all of my formations will be M.Hamlin. Yea he’s slow, but that 81 hit power and that 72 tackle rating can make up for it, and if i decide to user someone else and let the cpu take control of him, that 80 PRC is nice to have as well.
Nickel Odd Split
LE-D.Ware, the best rusher on the game
DT-J.Ratliff-same as 4-4
DT2-Igor-same as 4-4
RE-A.Spencer-same as 4-4
MLB- B.James, my power and run support of my 2 LB’s
ROLB- J.williams, my speed and coverage of my 2 lb’s
CB-1 M.Jenkins, Same as 4-4
CB2-T.Newman,Same as 4-4, but with no Pat Watkins
CB3-G.Sensabaugh and Orlando Scandrick. If i CB blitz then Scandrick will be at CB3, and of course I’ll drop him a few time to keep it honest, Sensabaugh is great for run support and speed along the LOS
FS-M.Hamlim(User). I don’t need a lot of speed because i have Newman on that side of the field with his 97 speed. Hamlin also balances out the weak side. Giving me speed and coverage with Newman, even though he’s fragile and poor in run support, while Hamlin gives me brute and force, even though he lacks in coverage.
SS- P.Watkins. Him and Jenkins on one side makes it tough to run or pass. Both are great in coverage and in run support
