Top 10 Madden Teams of All-Time!

Since the beginning of time, even before online there have teams that dominate John Madden Football.

Teams that always get taken out for a spin while the other teams sit watching. These 10 teams have featured some dominating players and ability to do unique things only available to teams of their caliber.

Without further ado here are the 10 best madden teams ever.

10. Dallas Cowboys-09 I will bless the 09 Cowboy’s with the opening spot. They have all the pieces to be remebered as one of the great Madden teams of all time! We will have to see if history allows them to move up this list though. Lets start with Romo and his accuracy and mobility. Then we have Marion the Barbarion at FB with first round pick Felix Jones at RB (Wheels). Then on the outside is T.O. who is pretty good when he isnt crying about his QB. Witten is a freak TE, but Martellus Bennet is every bit as good for rocketing with his hoop skills. In case you thought Jerry Jones didn’t care about Madden he went out and got 6’4 Roy Williams in a mid season trade if you needed more incentive to use them. Their defense is a stalwart group as well. They have power up front and speed off the edges. D-Ware must be accounted for on every play with his unique combo of speed and strength. In the secondary, they traded for Pacman, drafted Scandrick and have Newman. That’s a lot of speed. Pat Watkins is a tall safety to defend rockets and Roy Williams can jar fumbles loose besides not being able to do much else.

I hate Jerry Jones but he does know how to make a great Madden team to beat his grandkids with!

9. 94 Buffalo Bills-Thurman Thomas was an absolute trucking machine in this game. They had Jim Kelly firing darts to his receivers. Andre Reed was always open down field unlike in big games and you could just huck it down there to him. On defense they had this player you might have heard of Bruce Smith. He could be lined up inside the o-linemen and get pretty serious heat all by him self. Those were the days when a lot of people controlled the d-line and he was a beast up front. This was the end of their run as the worst dynasty in history, but it sure did make for a good madden team.

8. 2001 Tenn. Titans- The first game to have a QB who could really sling the pill, or hand it off to Eddie George who was on his last hurrah in life and madden. If you used the feature precision route running, Mcnair and Kerry Collins were the only guys who could deliver consistent catchable balls. With Dyson and Wycheck just making plays this got annoying. There defense also had Kearse who was making a name for himself and some big time safeties which prevented you from getting the same routes accomplished. Eddie George spent all his juice on this game., sold his heisman to EA to be a hero for one season.

7. 2008 Chargers- Lets get serious here. They were the most annoying team to face online. Not threatening because of Rivers lack of arm strength but because they had 4 guys who could spec catch and rocket catch. Good players sent out all 4 and made big user plays on 10 yard routes. Try defending Gates, Chambers, Jackson, and out of nowhere there 8th receiver who just happens to have a high enough rating MACOLM FLOYD will kill you with a big first down. Oh wait they have Kassim Osgood hes not even 6’5. Are you kidding me? This team was designed for this specific game, it’s a conspirecy, I SWEAR. Oh yeah they also had LT to run the ball behind an offense line with major weapons. They just slowly killed you and it was brutal. On the other side they had a dominating and powerful front 7. With any chance you had to score quick against an avg. secondary. But make that mistake and it’s another clock draining drive which finish with a spec td or a LT FB Dive. ROUGH

6. The 06 E-A-G-L-E-S- Eagles- They had Mcnabb at QB, Guy has such a fierce combo of leg speed and arm strength that its just stupid. T.O. was their main threat at the wide receiver and with the pump fake could get open every time. The had some beast along the D-Line with Jevon Kearse. There secondary was loaded with lito, sheldon, B DAWK, and M. Lewis. Throw in Trotter to solidify the middle and that’s an imposing defense, not to mention Brian Westbrook with his speed out of the backfield on counters and receiving routes. What a squad.

5. The 02 Vikings.-They had the madden cover boy, MR. Dante Culpepper. They also had hmmm? who else oh yeah the best WR to ever grace a Video Game since rice in tecmo. RANDY MOSS. He had to be accounted for on every single play that it became so frustrating. You couldn’t spot light or double well enough to stop him due to the poor defensive engine before the 05 overhaul. Getting smoked on the corners got old quick. The also had some serious speed in the backfield and Dante was able to get outside the pocket pre qb contain defense. Either user spy Dante or double moss but pick your poison cause you’ll be drinking it all day.

4. The Greatest Show on Turf. The 03 Rams. Kurt Warner had so many targets in this game that it was silly. They were banned from local competition in my area with there threats on the outside. Not to mention that Marshall Faulk is one of the all time threats inside and outside. They also had a very fast Trung Candiate who could mess with those who weren’t careful. The defense was a little suspect but when your scoring a couple thousand points who really cares. Plus the defense wasn’t capable of being as dominant in this game as in later installments of madden.

3. 94′ Cowboys- Emmit Smith was an absolute monster in this game. Never known for being a true speed rusher, he was magical faster than anyone on the defense while his power remained intact. With Aikman and Irvin being able to air it out this team was solid. Not to mention the era of playing the DE and lining him up for a quick blitz started here. None were more effective at getting to the qb than big number 94 Charles HALEY.

2. Atlanta Falcons 05-Well folks one specific reason here and that’s the QB Mike Vick. Say what you want but in this game he was an incredible threat. Along with Peerless Price and his 97 speed as well as Brian Finneran hauling in passes with his height, this offense was nearly unstoppable. They had warlock dun catching out of the backfield and could expose any defense. With Vick avoiding nano’s and a FAST defense on the otherside this team racked up points and forced turnovers all over the place.

1. New England Patriots 08-No shock here ladies and gentleman, before and after updates the 08 Pats featured a money combo with the moss and Brady connection. In real life all they did was go 16-0. In Madden they hauled in numerous madden challenges and allowed anyone to have a shot to win the game. They had a fast TE in Watson and a few solid extra receivers with Welker and Jackson oh yeah and donte Stallworth (97 SPD). The defense while avg. speed wise at linebacker had depth and 2 fast blitzers in Colvin and Thomas. The D-line is strength and hogs gaps with Warren, Wilfork and Seymour. Anyone who wanted to open it up took control of the Bentley of Qb’s tom Brady. Roll any way and throw of any back leg and it was accurate. Change teams and try it with someone else and it was pick city. The pats were so dominate it was hard to get a game online if you were using them. Well EA, if its in the game, its in the game.
